Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive across the Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya’s most famous Game Reserve, Masai Mara, in time for lunch. The world famous Masai mara is not only famous for the wildlife migration, it is also the very best reserve to watch the lions in the world. You will spend the afternoon exploring the rolling hills and plains in search of wildlife mix. It is important to understand the animals roam free, and sometimes you may have to do a bit of driving and searching. Meals and Overnight at your chosen camp or lodge.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Probably one of the most famous reserves in the world, Masai mara holds on to its promise of abudandance of wildlife and high concentrations. No better way than to spend a full day exploring this magnificent National reserve. Optionally, leave the camp with picnic meals and spend more time out with wildlife. Even on a budget, masai mara wilds remain the same, offering you some of the worlds best widllife views. In addition, Natural Track guides will really teach you a lot on wildlife behaviour, and this will actually be an adventure for you. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara- Nairobi

Early morning drive followed by breakfast. After breakfast proceed back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Alternatively, have early breakfast, and leave the camp with your stuff and go for game drive. This will also be dependant on your flight departure time and longer drive can be arranged on one-on-one basis.

A thing or two about masai mara Wildebeests Migration:  Just recently, the phenomenon wildebeest migration was recognized as the Seventh wonder of the world. This natural event takes place on July – October in Maasai Mara which lies 270 kilometers south east of Nairobi. The animals move from northern Serengeti plains in Tanzania across Mara and Telek Rivers in Maasai Mara.

If you have not been following this series or if this is your first time you are hearing about the wildebeest migration, then relax! This article will give you real facts and eye witness occurrences on this year’s migration which has just started.The light showers that swept across the central Mara over the last week have drawn more herds from the northern Serengeti. The Mara River, about 3 kilometers north of the south-Mara bridge, has been the main arena over the past few days. Heavy crossings have taken place as thousands of the Serengeti herds crossed west on the Mara Triangle. The river is still low, making the crossing a bit easy for the animals. Once in the Mara, these herds have taken a traditional route splitting into two, with one group heading west and crossing over the Mara River while the other, north into Meta and towards Burrungat plains – just south of Mara Intrepids.
