Tour Plan

A safari briefing at breakfast prepares you for an exciting adventure. Depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the river that flows through the length of the park and provides a constant water source for the thousands of animals making their home here. Lunch at the lodge and enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and Overnight at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by a late afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is home to numerous birds, elephants, tree-climbing lions, hippos and buffaloes. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena/Sopa Lodge.

You will have an early morning start to the Ngorongoro Conservation area, host to the “birthplace of man,” and home to a unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive in time for lunch. Later, visit a Masai village.Dinner and Overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena/Sopa Lodge.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the crater as the sun rises. Descend 2000 feet below the rim of the crater for a full day of spectacular game viewing. The crater is home to abundant game, including the “Big Five,” along with the black rhino, jackal and Cape buffalo. Lunch is served picnic style on the crater floor. Late afternoon you will drive to the Ngorongoro Serena/Sopa Lodge for dinner and Overnight.

This morning drive to Olduvai Gorge for a short visit to the site of the remains of prehistoric “Nutcracker man.” Continue your journey to the world’s best-known park, the Serengeti. Named after the Masai word, “Siringet,” for endless plains of short and long grass, the Serengeti is well known for its large prides of lion, cheetah, packs of wild dog and nearly a million or so wildebeest. Enjoy lunch at the lodge and a late afternoon game viewing drive Dinner and Overnight at the Serengeti Serena/Sopa Lodge.

Enjoy two full days of morning and late afternoon game drives. On day 6 you have the opportunity to take an early morning balloon safari (extra cost) over the Serengeti Plains or continue with your scheduled game drive. In the late afternoon, you will head out for another game drive. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Serena/Sopa Lodge.

Breakfast. Drive back to Arusha to connect the flight to JRO/Zanzibar or shuttle to Nairobi.
